Program Description:
Join us for a special tour with artist Shin-hee Chin of her WMQFA exhibition, "Shin-hee Chin: Rootedness."
Following her guided tour, we welcome you to enjoy coffee with the artist in the Museum’s Atrium.
In honor of World Refugee Day, WMQFA is working with the Bureau of Refugee Programs of the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to offer free admission on Friday, June 21, with extended hours until 6pm.
WMQFA Senior Curator Emily Schlemowitz will be providing free gallery talks throughout the day, and admission to the museum's 25 Million Stitches: One Stitch, One Refugee exhibition will be free for everyone!

Join us for an opening night celebration and gallery walk-through of the museum’s newest exhibit, given by exhibiting artist Akiko Ike. Immerse yourself in Ike’s incredible body of work in this first North American solo exhibition of the artist. The walk-through will be in Japanese with an English translator. Light refreshments will be served.

Join Fabulous Fads exhibition Co-Curator Carol Butzke on a tour through the museum’s current exhibition, then be delighted with a trunk show featuring more treasures from Carol’s personal collection.
Join us at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel for a cocktail reception followed by an artists panel celebrating WMQFA’s current exhibition Counting Threads (on view through November 13). Mix and mingle with artists Jacquie Gering, Michelle Grabner, and Sarah Nishiura, while enjoying the ambience and galleries at Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel. Continue your experience with a lively conversation among the three artists and Saint Kate’s Curator Samantha Timm guided by WMQFA’s Senior Curator Emily Schlemowitz.
Join us on Friday, September 18, from noon–1pm, at the Grohmann Museum at MSOE, for a free panel discussion between Emily Schlemowitz, Senior Curator at WMQFA; Minal Hahm, PE, CFM, Principal Engineer at M Squared Engineering LLC; and Mika Frank, Director of Business Development at Lakeside Development Company. The discussion will highlight six commonalities between the panelists’ fields of architecture, art, and engineering: collaboration, transformation, vision, strategy, communication, community, and joy.
