Peanut Butter & Jelly Roll Competition

On your marks. Get set. GO!

Grab your friends for the first-ever Peanut Butter & Jelly Roll Competition, benefiting both WMQFA and Family Sharing.

Teams will race against each other to complete jelly roll quilt tops with prizes awarded to the winning team (and bragging rights!).

Participate on a team, or cheer on your friends.

Doors open at 10am with the competition beginning at 10:30am.

All donations/proceeds from the PB & Jelly Roll Competition will be split equally between WMQFA and Family Sharing. The completed quilts will be donated to a charity, but you’ll be able to see them in WMQFA’s micro-gallery first.

WMQFA is excited to launch our 2024 virtual auction! All proceeds benefit the museum.

The auction will be open from 12pm on Thursday, August 1st through 2pm on Monday, August 5th.

Please support the museum with your auction item donations.

Items must be received by JULY 14. They may be dropped off or mailed to the museum.

Here are ideas for suitable donations:

  • Quilts of all sizes

  • Handmade items like bags, totes, needle cases, sewing kits

  • Wearables like scarves, hats, mittens, aprons, vests, jackets

  • Woven, knitted or crocheted items

  • Handmade baskets, punch needle or embroidered objects

  • Framed art, art or décor items – new, like new, or original work

  • Pre-cut fabric bundles, threads - new

  • Gadgets like templates and rulers – new

  • Other handmade items like barn quilts, bird houses, sets of greeting cards

  • Themed basket items (e.g. gardening, wine, Italian or other cuisines, quilting accessories, children/toys/crafts, holiday)

  • Fabric yardage

  • Gift certificates (e.g. restaurants, stores, coffee, sweets, B&B, motel)

  • Event tickers/experiences (e.g. sports, plays, concerts)

  • Vintage fiber related items that would be valued by a collector (e.g. embroidered items, quilt blocks, handmade lace)

November 30 is global day of giving which harnesses the collective power of giving to celebrate generosity worldwide. Every year, millions of people give to support what they love.

WMQFA is proud to be a part of #GivingTuesday, and we invite you to join our celebration on December 1st.
The WMQFA board has once again generously agreed to match all donations that day, up to $5,000. That means all of your donations count for double!

10th Anniversary Open House - History in the Stitches

Celebrate WMQFA’s 10th Anniversary! Join us for a socially-distanced outdoor, tented picnic. Pick up a delicious boxed picnic dinner from Shully’s and a celebratory cupcake. You may dine at the museum or bring your dinner home if you prefer. Enjoy beer, wine, soda, and water as you stroll the grounds. Exhibit Curator Emily Schlemowitz will also provide special tours of the museum’s anniversary exhibition.

Image credit: Twinkling Stars Amish Quilt. This traditional 104 x 112 inch quilt in jewel tones on black features alternating star blocks and log cabin blocks.  The quilt top was purchased by the donor, Kay Buelke Schroeder, at an Amish auction in Cashton, WI, and machine quilted by Laura Dulmes of Hingham, WI.
