Class Description:

Take a trip to the Scottish Highlands with Justine Heinrichs! The workshop is a fun exploration of painting with wool using wet felting, needle felting, merino wool and gorgeous locks! Participants will create a 11” x 14” portrait of a Highland Cow scene suitable for hanging. Students will learn: How to lay out fibers for wet felting. How to wet felt wool, silk and locks. How to use felting needles. How to use a template for design inspiration. How to blend colors by hand or using hand carders. How to use different values of color to express light and reflection.

Winter is a great time for making a Sleepy Squirrel! Join in the fun making these snuggly creatures. You will learn 3D needle felting techniques that are the building blocks of 3D sculptures. The adorable squirrel you make will be perfect in a basket or bowl. This is a Level 1 workshop and absolute beginners to those experienced with felting will have a blast making these ridiculously fun little animals.
