Class Description:

Take a trip to the Scottish Highlands with Justine Heinrichs! The workshop is a fun exploration of painting with wool using wet felting, needle felting, merino wool and gorgeous locks! Participants will create a 11” x 14” portrait of a Highland Cow scene suitable for hanging. Students will learn: How to lay out fibers for wet felting. How to wet felt wool, silk and locks. How to use felting needles. How to use a template for design inspiration. How to blend colors by hand or using hand carders. How to use different values of color to express light and reflection.

Just in time for the holidays! Busy Elves! Join in the shenanigans making these adorable guys. You will learn 3D needle felting techniques that will be valuable in continuing your needle felting adventures. The included material fee covers students making 1-2 needle felted elf sculptures in one 3 hour session and enough materials to make another elf at home. This is a Level 1 workshop and absolute beginners to experienced felters will have a blast making these ridiculously fun little guys. Students will receive a felting needle and use of a felting surface and punch tool.

William Morris Rug Hooked Design Class with Joyce Krueger

In this class, students will learn how to hook on an 10" x 11" mat with a William Morris design. William Morris was a weaver, illuminator, typographer, and designer of stained glass, tiles, furniture, tapestries and carpets. The fiber world knows Morris as a designer of fabrics and has adapted his designs in quilts, embroideries, appliques, and rug hooking. From lush botanical designs to Alhambra arabesques, each rug conveys an ageless beauty. We will be doing one of Morris’s lush floral designs. The kit will include the pattern, a hook and all the wool needed to complete the mat.

Class Description:

This workshop is a fun exploration of painting with wool using wet felting, needle felting, merino wool and gorgeous locks! Participants will create a portrait of a fox in a field suitable for hanging. Our first day will focus on laying out fibers and wet felting. The next half day will complete the picture with wet felted details. Students will learn: How to lay out fibers for wet felting. How to wet felt wool, silk and locks. How to use felting needles. How to use a template for design inspiration. How to blend colors by hand or using hand carders. How to use different values of color to express light and reflection.

Class is perfect for beginners! Ages 13 & up.

Description: 

Drop spinning is a simple but fun process that doesn’t require much in the way of equipment or space, and is easy to pick up as a beginner. Learn basic spinning motions, terms and other information to be successful at creating your own yarn!


Price $40 or $35 Members. Kit fee paid to teacher during class $22 for class supplies (drop spindle and 4 oz wool.)
