Workshop Description:

Discover the art of "Random Weave and Stitch," a unique fiber art technique that blends weaving and embroidery to create dynamic, textured designs. In this workshop, participants will learn how to freely interlace threads, build layers of depth, and stitch a one-of-a-kind image like a tree.

Workshop Outline:

In this hands-on session, participants will start by creating a textured fabric base and then freely interlace threads to form an organic composition. Guided by the instructor, you'll stitch a unique design, such as a tree, adding depth and character as you go. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a completed piece and the skills to continue exploring this creative technique on your own.

Class Description: Here’s your chance to put those beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabrics you’ve been saving to great use.  Spend two-days learning a variety of approaches to cutting, piecing, appliqueing, and in other ways combining these ‘stashed’ fabrics with hand stitching and a variety of thread types.  We’ll address design and composition issues as well as approaches to stitching on and embellishing the cherished fabrics that may be different than ways in which you’ve approached other types of fabrics.
